چکیده

Diospyros capricornuta is an endemic species widely distributed along the coast of Tanzania that used as food condiments and traditional medicine. The chemical compositions leaves, stem-bark, root-bark extracts; their bioactive potentials against Aspergillus flavus parasiticus were investigated. samples D. extracted using Soxhlet apparatus resultant extracts analyzed Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS). A total 14 compounds identified from extracts, whereby 2,4-di-tert-butylphenol was most abundant compound in all extracts. growth aflatoxin production inhibitions A. determined via antifungal antiaflatoxigenic bioassays at concentrations 0.0, 62.5, 125.0, 250.0 µg/mL a poisoned-food method. High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) technique to quantify aflatoxins after evaluate inhibitions. stem-bark highest dose inhibited by for over 99% 94%. Overall, results show are potential inhibitors parasiticus-the producers aflatoxins.

Characterization of aflatoxigenic Aspergillus flavus and A. parasiticus strain isolates from animal feedstuffs in northeastern Iran

Aflatoxins are secondary toxic metabolites produced by some Aspergillus spp. particularly, Aspergillus flavus and A. parasiticus that contaminate food and feed. The objective of this study was to evaluate the contamination of feedstuffs with Aspergillus spp. and detect genes involved in the aflatoxin biosynthesis pathway of A. flavus and A. parasiticus isolates. A total of 110 cow feed samples ...

Characterization and population analysis of the mating-type genes in Aspergillus flavus and Aspergillus parasiticus.

We characterize the mating-type genes in Aspergillus flavus,Aspergillus parasiticus and Petromyces alliaceus. A single MAT1-1 or MAT1-2 gene was detected in the genomes of A. flavus and A. parasiticus, which is consistent with a potential heterothallic organization of MAT genes in these species. In contrast, the only known, functionally homothallic species in Aspergillus section Flavi, P. allia...

Possible implications of reciprocity between ethylene and aflatoxin biogenesis in Aspergillus flavus and Aspergillus parasiticus.

Aspergillus flavus and Aspergillus parasiticus produced ethylene during early growth. However, the onset of toxin biosynthesis was marked by the absence of ethylene evolution. 2-Chloroethyl phosphonic acid, an ethylene-generating compound, inhibited aflatoxin biosynthesis in vivo. The reciprocal relationship between the production of aflatoxin and ethylene by the organism may indicate the invol...

Efficacy of Euphorbia splendens and Leonotis nepetaefolia on aflatoxin producing fungi Aspergillus flavus and Aspergillus parasiticus.

Efficacy of three different concentrations (5, 10 and 15 mg/ml) of dry flower powder of E. splendens and L. nepetaefolia was tested on the growth of aflatoxin-producing toxigenic strains of fungi A. flavus (NCBT 101) and A. parasiticus (NCBT 128) in Sabouraud dextrose agar medium (SDA). Maximum (75%) inhibition of growth of A. flavus was seen at 15 mg/ml concentration of E. splendens flower dry...
